FAQ

Curious about Maplecrafted? Our FAQ covers how we feature Canadian brands, plan to monetize, and approach data.

About

Maplecrafted is a website that spotlights Canadian-owned online stores and brands that ship to your door. We aim to provide an easy to browse directory to make make it easier for you to consistently find alternatives to shopping at international retailers.

We take some of the guesswork out.

Maplecrafted only lists Canadian-owned online merchants in one simple place, making it easy to find and support them, without hours of research. Whether you’re after Canadian-made goods or just want to support local shops, we help you choose what works best for you and our economy.

Not at all. If you can, that's fantastic and highly encouraged! For the vast majority of us though, this is unrealistic. Supporting Canadian businesses is about progress, not perfection!

It’s all about small, steady, realistic changes. Choose Canadian when you can, whether a brand or a retailer (even if buying international goods), and know it all adds up.

Shopping at Canadian stores sends a clear signal that there is real demand for their goods here at home. That support helps local businesses grow, hire more staff, and continue investing in new products and services.

Many of the retailers featured on Maplecrafted proudly offer Canadian-made goods. When you can, choosing Canadian makes a difference and encourages stores to keep expanding their local selection, but we know it’s not always an option for every purchase.

It is not just about big purchases; even simple decisions, like picking a Canadian retailer for everyday items, contribute to a stronger and more resilient economy.

Together, these choices contribute to a ripple effect, helping Canadian businesses and communities thrive. Every bit of support is a small but important step that gives them more reason to keep doing what they do best.

Website

We don’t use company logos much on the site because most logos are protected and you usually need permission to show them.

Instead, we focus on making everything colourful and friendly in our own way. As Maplecrafted grows, we hope to slowly add official logos in the company profiles and company directory, either with permission from the company itself or through affiliate partnerships.

For now, we're just keeping things bright and welcoming while we work towards getting those permissions.

Maplecrafted is an independently curated directory. Our primary goal is to build a helpful resource for Canadian-owned shops and brands, regardless of whether we have a financial relationship with them or not.

To help keep the lights on, some of our listings may include affiliate links. This means if you click and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. However, many of the brands we feature have no affiliate program at all. We list them simply because they are great Canadian companies that deserve to be found.

We strive to give every profile a fair and positive description, staying true to our mission of supporting Canadian businesses.
